Day 1 (18 March 2008) - Inside Shin Lin Night Market

Shin Lin Night Market is nearby Jian Tan MRT station. Its just few stations away from Taipei Main Station. This market only opens at night. Anyway my Taiwan friend, Vincent drive Rei and myself to Shin Lin. His car is cool, a Mini Cooper.

The photo on the right is Rei (left) and Vincent (right). Rei is my friend since university time (our proud Northern University Of Malaysia) while Vincent is a friend we met randomly at Sabah during our trip for Padas Rafting. Vincent is an extreme nice guy and cute too. This photo is the inside view of how Shin Lin Market looks like

Inside Shin Lin Market there are hundreds of mainly food stalls. Its a good place for snack eateries, even the locals like to come this place on weekends. But when we went there were on weekday night. So its not packed... at least we can walk. Anyway not all stalls open on that night. Therefore if you want to see all the stalls, you have to come on weekend night... pray you can even move if you come on weekend :P

This is "big biscuit wrap small biscuit" . The small crispy biscuit will be smash by hammer on a layer of "big biscuit". Then the big biscuit will roll and wrap the small biscuit. This is how it looks like inside the "big biscuit wrap small biscuit"

This is the famous Taiwan Fried Omelet. There are also fried omelet in Malaysia but the way they cook is quite different. In Malaysia normally we cook by using eggs only. But there they cook with flour, eggs and omelet. Then also put some special sweet sauce on top.

I cant remember the name of the dish on the right. But according to Vincent, it's also very popular in Taiwan. It has octopus, squid and baby bamboo cooked in this soup.
